- The appointment follows T-CURX's USD 20.5 million Series A financing at the end of 2025, the acquisition of mRNA/LNP platform company Pantherna Therapeutics, and Swiss regulatory approval to initiate a Phase 1 trial of TCX-001, its Siglec-6-directed CAR-T program, in patients with acute myeloid leukemia and chronic lymphocytic leukemia; additional European regulatory submissions are in progress
Würzburg, Germany, September 30, 2026. T-CURX GmbH ("T-CURX"), a biotechnology company developing non-viral CAR-T therapies, today announced the appointment of Florian Schmid as Chief Financial Officer. Florian will lead the company's finance, operations and investor relations functions, with an initial focus on preparing and executing T-CURX's planned financing activities. The financing is intended to accelerate the clinical translation of the company's non-viral ex vivo and in vivo CAR-T programs.
Florian brings more than 20 years of financial leadership experience across the biopharmaceutical, technology and professional services sectors. Most recently, he served as CFO of iOmx Therapeutics AG. Previously, he was CFO and an Executive Board member of Vivoryon Therapeutics N.V. (Euronext Amsterdam: VVY) and held a senior finance role at InflaRx N.V. (Nasdaq: IFRX), where he supported the company's US initial public offering. Florian began his career at Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young after earning a degree in business administration from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He is a German Certified Public Accountant and Certified Tax Advisor. His experience includes corporate financing, governance and building scalable finance organizations for growing life sciences companies.
Florian joins T-CURX as the company advances several corporate and clinical milestones. At the end of 2025, T-CURX closed a USD 20.5 million Series A financing led by Swiss BiomedVC. In June 2026, the company acquired Pantherna Therapeutics, adding proprietary mRNA engineering and lipid nanoparticle delivery technologies. That same month, T-CURX received Swiss regulatory approval to initiate a Phase 1 clinical trial of TCX-001, its non-viral, Siglec-6-directed CAR-T program, in patients with acute myeloid leukemia and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. By combining its non-viral, transposon-based CAR-T technology with LNP delivery capabilities, T-CURX has established an integrated technology platform protected by 16 patent families to advance next-generation in vivo CAR-T programs toward the clinic.
"We are delighted to welcome Florian to T-CURX," said Ulf Grawunder, PhD, CEO and co-founder of T-CURX. "The combination of our proprietary non-viral CAR-T and LNP technologies has created a strong foundation for our in vivo CAR-T pipeline, including programs targeting solid tumors. Florian's track record in financing and scaling biotechnology companies strengthens our leadership team as we secure the resources and build the operational capabilities needed to advance these programs toward clinical development."
"Florian's appointment further strengthens T-CURX's leadership team for the company's next phase of development," said Hans-Peter Gerber, PhD, Chairman of the Board of T-CURX. "He has demonstrated an ability to support rapidly growing biotechnology companies through important financing and organizational transitions. As T-CURX prepares for additional financing activities, his expertise will be invaluable in advancing our in vivo CAR-T programs and supporting our long-term commitment to patients."
"I am excited to join T-CURX at this important stage in the company's development," said Florian Schmid. "T-CURX has established a strong foundation by combining its differentiated non-viral CAR-T platform with Pantherna Therapeutics' LNP-based delivery technology. I look forward to strengthening the company's financial and operational foundation as we advance its in vivo CAR-T programs, including programs targeting solid tumors, toward clinical development."
