Prof. Michael Hudecek, MD

Chief Medical Officer, Scientific Advisor & co-Founder

Michael is co-founder of T-CURX, main inventor of all of T-CURX patents, Chief Medical Officer and member of T-CURX Scientific Advisory Board. Michael is a clinician by training, and an expert in the research and development of CAR T cell technologies and products. He is a treating physician in the Department of Internal Medicine II headed by world-renowned Prof. Einsele at the University Hospital Würzburg. Before joining Prof. Einsele’s Department at the University of Würzburg in 2012, Michael completed 3 years post-doctoral research in Prof. Stan Riddell’s group at Fred Hutch Cancer Research in Seattle, WA, U.S, a pioneer in adoptive immunotherapy and CAR T cell development and co-founder of JUNO Therapeutics Inc a leader in the CAR T cell field.

Michael studied medicine at the University of Leipzig, Germany, where he subsequently worked as a physician in internal medicine/hematology-oncology. Throughout his medical training, Michael performed laboratory research on T cell-mediated graft-versus-leukemia effect in bone marrow transplantation under supervision of Prof. Dr. Dietger Niederwieser, and graduated with honors in 2007, after which he started his post-doctoral research at Fred Hutch.

Michael is an internationally renowned expert in adoptive cellular and CAR T cell based cancer therapies and has published more than 60 peer-reviewed papers in the field. In addition, he is co-inventor on more than 10 patent applications in the field of cellular immunotherapy and CAR technology, which form the basis for T-CURX products and technologies.
